The Exeter Alternative School
Boat Building
The Exeter Alternative School Boatbuilding Program will build a Merry Mac sailboat this year.  The Merry Mac is a boat designed by the famous local boat builder, Ned Mcintosh.  Students will be involved in many aspects of boat building throughout this year.
bowshot Semester II Grading and Expectations:
Students will contract to complete four of the following activities.  Grades will be determined by student conducted presentaions of each project. 
Items with * can be repeated:
Boat Building Credit
-Work on the boat or related parts.*
-Write and illustrate a chapter of the book "The building of our Merry Mac"(Click here for topics.)*
-Loft the boat.*
-Create a knot board showing knots used   by sailors.
-Make cloth storage bags for the boat.
-Make a name plate for the boat.
-Make a wooden sign.
-Make a half model of a boat.
-Make a banner for our boat (or shop).
-Add to the boat shop Website.*
Art Credit
