There are seven major land biomes which include- Tundra, Boreal forest, Temperate coniferous forest,Temperate deciduous forest, Chaparral, Desert, Grassland, Savanna, and Tropical rain forest.

The seven major biomes are...
Tundra :Climate- extremely cold, dry, permanetly frozen subsoil. Plants - Lichens, low shrubs. Animals - Artic foxes, lemmings, polar bears, caribou, wolves, birds.
Boreal forest : Climate - Cold winters, short growing season. Plants - evergreen trees, balsam fir, black spruce, jack pine, white spruce. Animals - Bears, moose, ducks, loons.
Temperate coniferous forest : Climate - Cool moist, middle and upper mountain slopes, mild winters, heavy rainfall. Plants - Cedar, hemlock, pine, and redwood. Animals - Bears, elk,mountain lions, wolves.
Temperate deciduous forest : Climate - Cold winters, warm summers, moist. Plants - elm, maple, and oak.Animlas - Deer, raccoons, small birds.
Chaparral: Climate - Rainy, mild winter, hot, dry summer. Plants - Scrub oak, manzanita. Animals - Coyotes, mule deer, lizards.
Desert : Climate - Extremely dry.Plants - Cacti, sparse grasses, small leaved shrubs. Animlas - Lizards. snakes, kangaroo rats, wood rats.
Grasslands : Climate - Temperate. Plants - Grasses, herbaceous plants. Animals - Antelope, pronghorn bison, wolves, buffaloes, coyotes
Savanna : Climate - Long dry season. Plants - Grasses and scattered clumps of trees, acacia, baobab trees. Animals - Giraffes, zebras, jackals, lions.
Tropical rain forest : Climate - Warm and wet all year. Plants - Evergreen trees, some palms and tree ferns, climbing vines. Animals - Bats, colorful birds, lizards, monkeys, snakes.
