Upcoming Field trips
by Jessica
Last semester the class of Project World engaged
in many fun outdoor field trips. These trips included the use of the ropes
course and team building at Camp Lincoln, rock climbing, an overnight hike
and a visit to the Brown center at UNH, where we learned about the wetlands.
This semester provided more new and adventurous trips. March 17th
we went on a all day snow shoe hike at Pawtuckaway state park. In April
we're hiking up the Nancy Pond Trail and spending the night there. Highlights
of this trip will include great views of waterfalls and time spent at a
wilderness bog.
In May we're taking a day hike and visiting the local
heron rookery in Danville. By the end of May we're going on a overnight
trip to the buffalo farm on Great Bay. We will be taking the whaleboat
out on the bay. On the farm we will be learning about the buffaloes and
supper may be cooked in a buffalo's stomach. Yummy!
I asked a few classmates what trip they're looking
forward to and here's what they had to say:
Sarah said "I'm looking forward to the
buffalo farm trip, because I'm into the native
American culture." Though she's not too excited to
eat food cooked in a buffalo's stomach. I don't
blame her.
Tom Wilhelm said he is also looking forward to
the buffalo trip, "because we'll be out on the lake
in the whaleboat."
Dan Mercurio said " I'm looking forward to the
buffalo/ whaleboat trip, because I want to go
fishing.
So it seems after talking to people in the
class and hearing people talking about it, the majority of the class are
excited about the overnight trips, though all the trips should be equally
fun. Can't wait! Keep reading Project World News to find out how the trips
went and what kind of interesting things happened.
